Hello and welcome.

I am 'PJ Buster'.

My goal is to bring attention to the perverted-justice.com site, henceforth referred to as PJ, or the rather puerile PeeJ as they call it over there. My wish to educate people as to its dark side. To try and accomplish this I have created and have been hosting a website since December 25, 2003 on Geocities (http://www.geocities.com/pjbuster2003/). That site enjoyed great success for four (4) months. Several others have sprung up independently to similarly draw attention to the various concerns that PJ's existence raises.

On April 26, 2004 with the help of colleagues we have moved to our new home here. New host, new forum. I had to drop the guest-book feature and the Yahoo Group associated with the old site is all but gone.

This place is for the open discussion of perverted-justice.com. My moniker is 'PJ Buster'. I make no apologies for that - it am clearly anti-PJ (perverted-justice.com). I do however believe in a democratic society and freedom of speech. This place should exemplify those ideals. The perverted-justice.com site, well, they DON'T stand for either. Simple as that.

I do hope you will be made to feel welcome here by everyone. I'm sure debate will become heated as any good debate is bound to. In the end we should all be able to shut off our PCs and have a good night's sleep... maybe think about our own views and stands on things. Think about others views and stands. Recognize diverse approaches to similar goals or come away shaking our heads in shock. We should come here with the expectation that we can learn from one another. Sometimes we learn when we weren't even aware - perhaps having just been 'yelled at'. It may sink in a little later. I know it sometimes takes a little longer for me.

Let's discuss a complex issue with as much composure as we can muster... I fully realize and expect things to go a little awry at times. Emotions run high. Reasoned debate gets derailed. Be prepared for that and be equally ready to work towards getting things back on track.

All views are welcomed here.

--- This should go on the main page but I don't have the power to do that ---

My story...

My start with the anti-PJ movement came after watching a FOX video about PJ. A friend of mine called me and simply said "hey look at this... then go to this PJ site, tell me what you think"

The video left me scratching my head. I immediately checked the PJ site which the two fellows in the video represented. I read a couple of transcripts (as they used to call them). Back in November/December 2003 they still allowed a guest log-on and freedom to view and post on their forums. Then they changed it to a limited so-many-day pass until you are forced to make a comment. Otherwise user id is suspended.

Anyhow I read and read for about 2-3 hours that night. Getting increasingly angry. My friend just stood by and said "uh huh... yup, I seen that too... yup."

I made up my own mind and started to draft up some rough notes about legal issues, civil liberties violations and such. Also I started researching cyber crimes, internet stalking, identity theft, and many legitimate Child Protection agencies. Meanwhile my friend was starting to contact some of these ex-"busts" featured on PJ. "Hello, are you getting a lot of crank phone calls? Your wife too? Your kids? Threats? wow, you're about to be fired? What's your bosses name and number and I will call him to explain the PJ site."

And so it started. My friend was the official phone-caller. To "busts", to companies, to schools, to local and regional police, to FBI. I was the silent partner PJ researcher, combing through 100s of followup and reaction forum threads. And gathering internet sites that touched on legal issues that are in breach there.

In summary I read many psychological papers dealing with the so-called scum that PJ was targeting. There were some serious disconnects. The ones PJ proclaimed as "OWNED" did not appear to exhibit characteristic pedophiles traits. Not from what I read.

And remember, I'm just learning everything from the ground up. I have no formal psychological training except 2 years in University plus 3 years philosophy in University (bird courses to fill in time between computer science)

Also there were numerous news-articles that included comments by law enforcement and predator investigators who were not entirely impressed with PJ.

My rough notes turned into a website on Geocities. There was a guest-book feature where people could leave anonymous comments. I also had a Yahoo Group for more in-depth discussion.

One of my colleagues here called me an activist. I thought activists are whale hugger types. I am anything but activist in anything I have done before. I am not politically correct. When I hear a "cause" I run the other way. People who wear ribbons of any color make me wince. Is there a clear ribbon for me? No wait. If there was a ribbon for THIS cause, I wouldn't wear it. I'm just not that kind of activist.

I wouldn't chain myself to a tree nor put barbed wire across nature trails to injure punk-ass mountain bikers. In short, I don't want to hurt anyone or anything. I guess I'm a pretty poor excuse for an activist.
