Q & A Q:
I initiated the IM (Instant Message), doesn’t that make me a predator? A:
Although PJ claims to never initiate IM, some archive log shows otherwise. This
may be a Yahoo Messenger bug and is being investigated. The person’s age was revealed
to you after the conversation was well under way. We believe this is done with
malice to entrap the person well after a level of comfort and familiarity has
set in. What
transpired in the public chat room is not posted on PJ’s site. For a reason.
They do not want to show you what went on to trigger the IM. It could be argued
that conversations taking place in “public chat” are just as private as those
in IM – since a Yahoo user ID is required (adults only can obtain them legally). The
so-called under-aged person claims to have had frequent sexual encounters with
older men. More often than not, the entrapper makes overt sexual references. You
may have hinted with sexual innuendo, but the entrapper escalates this to the
point of descriptive and suggestive sexual activity. Q:
The chat was sexual in content. What about that? A:
To quote one of PJ’s staff: “INTENT to have sex with a minor is not a crime. DOING
it is” [ from lexl_baby_3000, Yahoo ID beefthetroll, and at least 10 other aliases
] Read
your own chat logs very carefully. If you feel you can not be objective because
you are distraught, get a trusted person to read it for an impartial opinion.
Always use the archive feature in Yahoo Messenger. PJ will use their version,
cut-and-paste excerpts as they see fit, and that’s the version that’s made available
to the rabid mob salivating at the evolving forum on their site. The one you don’t
see, because you have to salvage your life now rather than register and become
a member of their organization to have access to your “records” – portions of
chat. We feel that very little remains of your original Chat Room dialog after
heavy editing, quoting out of context, and amending with their sick humor. Your
so-called transcripts are completely unsubstantiated. By-the-way, the term “transcript”
carries some legal weight which has until recently been used to raise its validity.
It has since been corrected to the more accurate term “chat logs”. Your character
is defamed with PJ’s editorial derogatory comments. If the chat log was indeed
credible evidence, it has been tampered with and made void by those comments added
by the contributor. Your dialog is tarnished and amended. The additions and selective
deletions are all entangled and made public on their site. You are not given a
chance to refute this new reality. Do NOT delete or alter anything concerning
your chat or chat logs on your machine. This can help prove your case in the future.
Anyone with internet access, ANYONE, can read what PJ selectively edits and alleges
you said in a private chat. By preserving your machine just as it was at the time
of your being notified of being posted on the PJ site, you are preserving evidence
that may help any case you bring against PJ. Q:
I did not end the conversation immediately upon their telling me they’re 15. I
should have. Doesn’t that make me a pervert?
A:
People pretend to be someone they’re not all the time on chats. Underaged, female
instead of male, motives that aren’t genuine. The PJ people have done all of those
misrepresentations in violation of Yahoo’s strict guidelines, policies and terms
of service. They are not law enforcement officials working undercover, in which
case, and only while on duty during an officially launched sting operation, they
would be exempt from guidelines, policies and terms of service. Q:
I gave out my phone number and was called by a young sounding female. Doesn’t
that make the whole thing sex?
A:
Sex? No. The voice confirmation of your phone is handled by a different person
than the one who was routing your conversation in text. A high-pitched, young-sounding
voice is used to maintain the illusion. Therefore, the person you chatted with
in Yahoo is not the one you just had spoken with on the phone. You have made a
mistake by confirming to them that the number was real. They have phoned you,
initiating a conversation with you. When
they don’t have an “underage-sounding phone verifier” handy and the baiter is
feeling particularly confident to bag a victim, they will not utter a single word.
Their phone call was simply to verify the phone number given. They hang up claiming
a bad cell connection, weak battery, calling-card expiry, or their mom called.
Bottom line – you did not even speak to an under-aged sounding person. But the
accusations that follow have you believing you did. They establish “intent to
speak with a minor” as if that’s a crime. But they called you, initiating and
escalating an implied rendezvous. Yet there was no conversation as such. Q:
I thought IM (Instant Message, or also called PM – private message) was private.
What gives? Why is this stuff posted on a publicly visible website? A:
Because quite simply, PJ is violating laws. The Yahoo TOS (terms of service) specifically
Chapter 6, subpart a, c, d & e, prohibit the disclosure and use of any private
information and conversation for the purpose of personal defamation or slander. In
at least one instance, the Yahoo ID in the posted chat log did not match the ID
of the person they were hounding. They cut-and-paste stuff from who knows where.
Their methods can not be challenged because they ban users from their forum that
have dissenting views. We
feel the “slimyness [sic] rating” at the bottom, a so-called court of public opinion,
is obviously not voted on by people with an objective view. It is unlike a real
jury consisting of members of the general public who judge community standards.
Instead, they appear to be anonymous agenda-based, hate filled individuals who
were given biased information including “editorial comments” mocking the accused.
We do not know how many of those votes are pre-loaded by the PJ staff, because
again, as with everything else on their site, it is generated anonymously with
no references or even criteria for establishing voter competence. Just any kid
can press a button. Q:
If PJ’s staff is violating laws and TOS's left right and center, why is no one
coming forward to shut them down and put the participants behind bars for slander,
threats, and for ruining people’s lives? A:
Because they shame their “busts”, the victims, to be so embarrassed that you would
not come forward. Of PJ’s 860 or so prior victims, it would take only five (5)
to start a law-suit according to FBI. You can help fight back on legal grounds
if you so choose. The
PJ website and its followers, with their phony IDs, their slick website and dubious
media coverage has as little credibility as the chat room dialog that was obtained.
Pure fantasy. Their advantage over you is that the main contributors wash their
hands and let 100s of anonymous users go out and do the dirty work. Vandalism
is encouraged and yet not condoned “officially”. It’s a cute trick but won’t wash
in a court of law. Inciting hatred against an individual and manipulating a mob
mentality is like yelling “fire” in a crowded theatre as a joke – then shrugging
off responsibility of any resultant incidents of trampling – injury or death. Q:
PJ people have bothered me with harassing phone calls, faxes, have approached
my workplace, my home, my wife. They are threatening physical violence against
my person and property, and continue to hound me. Is there any way to make them
stop? A:
YES. Keep all phone records, all archive logs of internet conversations. Make
note of telephone caller ID, time and date stamp everything. Present
these to the FBI, [other agencies] for a civil suit against the organization,
its so-called “official” members, and any single person who adopts PJ’s benign
anti-pedo facade to engage in their stalking passion. Q:
Somehow PJ disciples have contacted my place of work and I’m being let go. How
do I fight this? A:
You must challenge your place of work, the human resource department for releasing
personal information of employees such as your last name or description from company
directories to any stranger that comes along. An anonymous tip from some stranger
can do all this damage? Whether complete hearsay or an ounce of truth in PJ’s
allegation, only properly logged records from your company’s own servers, or from
your ISP (Internet Service Provider), or from law enforcement monitors cleared
by court issued warrant, can a chat be evidence in a court of law. Such a legitimate
transcript must contain verifiable date and time-stamp information. What some
anonymous internet surfer extracts from the internet, lacking crucial information
such as date, time, IP address, and secondary source confirmation, is merely text
someone typed in someplace. Unfortunately
in this day and age, the internet is given far too much credibility. A fantasy
story spewing forth from your company fax… Whether it was sent by some college
punk who likes to fantasize being an underaged girl, or an older woman who has
had suffered real sexual abuse and has developed a vendetta against all men. These
people will cause devastating life-changing decisions made on your behalf by poisoning
your reputation. Q:
How did they get all my personal information? A:
By using internet sites to do reverse-phone lookups (type in your phone number
obtains address), cross checking any and all companies within the traveling time
from your house you may have mentioned. By phoning all companies and canvassing
the company directories – some automated to list the entire staff roster by name.
You car make and model is obtained on databases that are supposed to be private.
Some do domain lookups to see who your sites are registered with, your originating
emails are traced. Even your cell-phone number can lead them to your home address
for a fee. We know some of the PJ staff are ex-law enforcement with connections,
now breaking the law. When
taken as a whole, these techniques are ones anyone with enough determination can
apply. Anyone from the PJ mainstays, to a weekend warrior, to Joe-six-pack, to
a soccer mom can feast on electronic data that may or may not represent a person’s
real life and real character. Unfortunately those acts don’t remain confined to
electronic messaging. Real vandalism is taking place. Real lives are being ruined. |
