Asked Questions What
is Corrupted-Justice.com? Corrupted-Justice.com
is a civil rights advocacy organization. We are a group of like-minded people
who are dedicated to bringing about an end,
using legal means, to the harasssment and terrorism
being perpetrated by the vigilante group Perverted-Justice.com.
What
is Perverted-Justice.com?
Perverted-Justice.com is a loosely organized group of computer gamers, students,
and the occasional well-meaning but misguided "reactionary" who's primary
purpose is to bring about the complete destruction of the lives of anyone they
determine is guilty of chatting with one of their "baiters". Their baiters
troll internet chat rooms pretending to be young teen-aged girls in the hopes
of entrapping men into sexually suggestive conversations. Once targeted, the PJ
members scour the internet for all available information to publicly identify
the target, his family, his employer, friends, associates, neighbors, etc. They
then embark on a brutal harasssment campaign against anyone listed on their site
via phone calls, internet messages, e-mails, neighborhood flyers, etc.
Isn't
what Perverted Justice does illegal? Strictly speaking, the posting of
publically accessible information is, in most cases, not illegal. What IS illegal
is the harasssment campaign which follows the posting of a "bust". In
addition, many questions are being asked about the sources of much of the information
which is publically posted, such as DMV records and information contained in numerous
confidential employee databases. The use of this information for purposes other
than their intended purpose IS illegal. The subsequent harasssment and terrorization
of their victims is also illegal.
Why
haven't they been sued? There are currently a number of civil litigations
being considered against PJ, its owner, and contributors. Until recently, it has
been virtually impossible to bring suits against PJ and its members, as they thoroughly
protect their anonymity. Identifying the major players would have been an exceptionally
expensive and time-consuming process. Fortunately, volunteers from Corrupted-Justice.com
have taken it upon themselves to perform the task of identifying PJ members using
many of the same tactics which PJ uses in identifying their targets. To this point,
upwards of 50 PJ members have been positively identified. The
financial expense associated with launching a civil lawsuit can be astronomical,
particularly when one considers the expenses of hiring investigators to determine
the actual identities of those involved. Very few of those targeted by PJ have
the financial resources to effectively sue. In addition, most simply want their
lives back after enduring the horrendous and terrifying harassment instigated
by PJ. Many would rather simply "dissapear off the radar" rather than
risk further terrorization of their families, friends, etc.
If
you know their identities, why don't you post them? Corrupted-Justice.com
is not law enforcement. We are NOT vigilantes. Rather than take the law into our
own hands to attempt to affect retribution against PJ members, we have instead
elected to keep all personal identification information secure and hidden from
public view. Rather than releasing this information publicly, we provide the details
to attorneys who are representing those targeted by PJ. In a number of case preparations,
we have been able to provide crucial information regarding the identities of many
of the PJ members who participated in harasssment and "follow ups",
as well as actual evidence of their participation gleaned from their own forums.
All information is stored securely and provided to attorneys when requested.
Are
Corrupted-Justice members former PJ "busts"? Absolutely not!
None of the founding members of Corrupted-Justice.com have ever been "busted"
by PJ. We are simply parents, teachers, students, professionals, and activists
who abhor the blatant violations of civil rights being carried out on a daily
basis by the people at PJ. We strongly believe that ALL witnessed criminal activity
should be promptly reported to law enforcement officials in order to ensure innocent
people are not snared in the PJ traps.
Do
you help PJ "busts" escape justice? Not in the least! In fact,
in most cases, we recommend that PJ victims immediately contact law enforcement!
The assistance we provide to PJ targets, their family, their friends, neighbors,
employers, attorneys, etc. is aimed at helping them to minimize PJ's "justice"
- The justice handed out by a gang of anonymous vigilantes who's primary motivation
appears to be the personal power which is generated by the ability to anonymously
destroy a life. In a recent case, it was actually OUR members who contacted law
enforcement regarding one of their targets because they refused to do so.
Do
you tell "busts" to destroy their hard drives? NEVER!! In every
case when we make contact with a PJ target, we make every effort to ensure that
ALL evidence is kept fully intact. In the vast majority of PJ's "busts",
the evidence of the ongoing harasssment campaign, hacking attempts, etc. are all
contained on the target's computer. A successful civil suit against PJ may very
well depend on this information remaining viable for examination by forensics
experts. In
a recent case, OUR members decided to contact the police to report a particular
"bust" where PJ refused to do so. By the time the police arrived at
the target's home, he had already been tipped-off by PJ and had destroyed his
hard drive. Rather than helping to solve the internet predator problem, PJ is
allowing predators to escape real justice by not contacting law enforcement and
instead, giving these potentially dangerous people a perfect opportunity to destroy
the evidence of their wrongdoing.
What
could PJ do to gain the support of your organization? In the time we have
been in operation, we have come to believe that there is little that such a vigilante
group could do to gain our trust or acceptance. They have proven time and again
that they are not interested in "protecting children" but rather the
personal power they gain from the ability to anonymously control lives. That
being said, a number of significant changes to the way they do business could
eliminate the need for our organization altogether, namely: 1.
If they must insist on continuing to pretend to be sexually promiscuous little
girls in Internet chat rooms, fine. Simply turn each and every "taker"
they get over to legitimate, trained law enforcement officials for resolution
rather than taking the law into their own hands. If law enforcement refuses to
take the case for any reason, rather than assuming that the police are
too lazy or stupid as they do in these cases currently, they should assume that
LE has a good reason for not proceeding and simply drop the case and move
on. 2.
Shut down the "Follow Up Forums" completely. - With legitimate law enforcement
pursuing the investigations, there is no requirement for the public posting of
inaccurate, unconfirmable personal details as is done currently. 3.
Cease harassing and terrorizing those they have determined are guilty of
a crime which has never been prosecuted in a court of law. We
have no reason to believe that any of these recommendations will be implemented
by Perverted-Justice.com any time in the foreseeable future.
What
is your organization doing to protect children from predators? As an organization,
absolutely nothing (directly). The purpose of Corrupted-Justice.com is not in
"protecting children" per se. Our main purpose is in protecting everyone
including children from the vigilante actions of perverted-justice.com. There
are a number of very good legitimate organizations whose primary mandate is the
protection of children. (Links may be found in our Links
section) On a personal level, some of our members are involved in protecting children
online by volunteering time at local schools to teach children about Internet
safety as well as donating financially to some of the other legitimate child protection
organizations. Many of us have children of our own, and go to great lengths to
ensure their safety both on the Internet and off, as any responsible parent should.
Our
purpose is in educating the public to the dangers posed by cyber-vigilantes. In
doing so, we believe we are protecting children.
