The potential for perverted-justice members driving someone targeted in a Perverted-Justice "bust" to suicide has always been high. It is something we have commented on and warned about since our inception almost three years ago. In a newspaper interview, when asked his opinion about the potential for such an outcome, Phillip Eide (alias - 'Xavier Von Erck'), the owner and "director of Operations" for the vigilante group responded "Specifically, people like to ask me, `How would you feel if someone [your group caught] committed suicide?'... My answer is, and will always be ... `Fine.'".

Comments posted on the Perverted-Justice forums by members of the vigilante group after the announcement of the recent suicide death in Murphy, Texas clearly demonstrate the sick thrill their members gain from the knowledge that their group was the catalyst for such a horrific event. When asked about this most recent perverted-justice-instigated death in a recent television interview, Eide's typically crass and immature response indicated that his primary regret was his inability to raise the site's "conviction counter" by one as a result of the death.

Unfortunately, the recent suicide in the tiny town of Murphy was not the first, and likely will not be the last occurring as a result of allowing unaccountable, untrained, anonymous cyber-vigilantes, partnered with a ratings-hungry, irresponsible pretend-television-news program to do the work that legitimate police should be doing. Followers of the doings of perverted-justice will also recall the suicide of Charles Harding, one of the men targeted by the vigilante group in Dateline #3. After this death, senior perverted-justice contributor "Jay Alternative" was quoted as stating "his death is deserved and welcomed on my behalf".

While some of those caught up in these perverted-justice media circuses certainly deserve to be punished severely for their crimes, the sheer joy that senior members of the group display when these deaths occur is exceptionally disturbing and in most cases, clearly indicative of the lack of human empathy or compassion that we would normally demand of anyone involved in this kind of work. When the fact is revealed that many members of the vigilante group self-admittedly suffer from a large range of severe psychological disorders, drug addictions, self-mutilation, etc., it is hardly surprising that most have no ability to recognize that death is not an appropriate punishment for someone who has not yet even stood trial and been convicted of a crime.

While Eide and his vigilante playmates revel and high-five each other as a result of their participation in causing another death, one has to wonder whether the result would have been similar had this "bust" been carried out in the socially accepted manner by accountable police without the TV cameras and the smarmy self-important grin of Chris Hansen. Perhaps we need to begin asking whether it is acceptable for unemployed twenty-something drop-out computer-gamer cyber-vigilantes or pretend-news entertainers to hand out death sentences... Interpret the death in Murphy however you like - That is what happened in this case.

Also indicative of the callous, juvenile, uncaring attitude held by Eide and his followers, the innocent townspeople of Murphy are now undergoing the typical "treatment" that Eide reserves for those with the audacity to suggest that perverted-justice, Dateline and their ilk are not welcome in their once-peaceful little town.

The citizens of Murphy, like citizens of many other towns and neighborhoods that have been put at risk as a result of the vigilante group's media whore-mongering are clearly outraged that this profit-motivated vigilante group would dare attract potentially dangerous pedophiles into their neighborhoods, endangering their children for the sake of TV ratings and dollars.

When Murphy's citizens recently voiced their displeasure at being used in such a manner, Eide responded by publicly declaring the residents of Murphy to be "elitist pricks". In another recent posting on his website, he blatantly states that Murphy's mayor is either stupid, or a liar. Not content with simply publicizing his warped views on his own website, he has now demanded that his ever-faithful website minions inundate and overwhelm the town counselors with hundreds of e-mails, phone calls, etc. in support of their vigilante tactics. Typical of a cowardly vigilante who attempts to maintain his false tough-guy persona while relying on the throngs of followers who have been sucked in by his inflammatory rhetoric to do his bidding.

While Eide's statements and actions may seem somewhat shocking to those who have not been as involved in the daily goings-on of perverted-justice, rest assured, they are par for the course. When the residents of Newtown Square, PA. similarly complained about the vigilante group endangering their children by attracting potentially dangerous predators into their quiet neighborhoods, Phillip Eide and his staffers responded with a scathing stream of insults and epithets, including the following reply to one of the residents:

Xavier Von Erck: Stuff your pretty "America" speech, grandstander. What we want is for people to be aware of the problem of internet pedophiles. We want America to be aware of the dark subculture that has affected so many children already. Do you think because you are affluent that you are immune? I could point out so many children from middle to upper-class neighborhoods who have left their homes and run off with older men after meeting online. Are you so vapid? Are you so foolish to think it couldn't happen there because your town is affluent? What hubris! What gall! Here is your reality of "America", Bill. You read these, you self-righteous egotist...

From longtime perverted-justice contributor Jim Schweitzer (a.k.a. "Beef the Troll") to residents of Newtown Square:

Beef the Troll: "All of Newtown Square is welcome to line up, hit their knees, and kiss my hairy green ass. I'm so f**king tired of hearing about these sub-mongoloids and their petty, rich-a**hole whining, I could piss into their water supply.

Bold-faced Lies Used to Gain Support for Vigilantism

Catching Perverted-Justice members in bold-faced, outright lies has been a daily occurrence almost since our inception. Rather than simply accepting anything stated as fact by a member of perverted-justice, the staff here at Corrupted-Justice.com always do our best to verify and independently corroborate any statement made, whether in support of or in criticism of the vigilante group.It is terribly unfortunate that members of perverted-justice don't feel the need to be as cautious.

Recently, a member of the vigilante group who calls herself "Pedoloather" apparently received an anonymous letter addressed to everyone in her neighborhood with accusations of pedophilia against a potential new resident. In the anonymous letter, the author stated:

"On the advice of the CMPD and the Center for Exploited and Missing Children, we have been advised to contact the home owners in your sub-division. We were advised that we must do this anonymously and for that we are sorry

In typical vigilante fashion, "Pedoloather", rather than making any attempt whatsover to verify or corroborate this anonymous letter, immediately assumes guilt and begins to take action on the basis of this unverified, anonymous letter. She is quoted in the local media as stating:

“I personally am just going to make sure that he knows that I know who he is the day he moves in. He has no idea that any of us know yet, so he is in for a surprise,”

“I’m always on going to have a camera or a video camera with me, and he’s gonna be well aware that we’re familiar with his dealings online.”

Unlike the typical PJers, the staff of Corrupted-Justice.com contacted the CMPD (Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department) and the NCMEC. Our intent was to confirm the claim that the author of the letter was advised by the police department and NCMEC to anonymously "notify" the neighborhood of the possibility that someone, a person who has never been charged with any crime, a person who has only ever been accused by an anonymous letter-writer, might be moving into the neighborhood.

We immediately got a response from CMPD police chief Darrel Stevens that included the following information:

"...We do not advocate sending anonymous letters and have not been able to locate any criminal history on this person including a check with Maryland authorities..."

In other words, "Pedoloather" immediately jumped in and took action on the basis of an anonymous letter in which the author outright lied to residents. When asked about the claim, the response from an analyst at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children contained the following:

"...Thank you for contacting NCMEC in reference to a letter that has gone out in your area about a possible sex offender moving into your community. We have not in fact advocated any type of anonymous letter being sent out and are not connected with it in any way. We appreciate you letting us know about this situation, and I was hoping to speak with you further about the matter..."

Corrupted-Justice staffers are now in regular contact with representatives of the NCMEC and are ensuring they are kept apprised of all of the fraudulent claims being made by others in their name. All associated PJer's identity information that we have been able to ascertain has also been forwarded to NCMEC for further action.

So far, nothing has been done by perverted-justice staff to address the intentional public falsehoods being actioned by "Pedoloather" or any other PJ member. In fact, "Pedoloather" has been praised by her fellow vigilantes for her "good work". For us, two questions come to mind:

If an anonymous letter-writer has to lie about their claims of affiliation, shouldn't PJers perhaps be questioning the legitimacy of the claims BEFORE taking action? and; How many of the numerous questionable claims made by actual perverted-justice staff and members are similarly fabricated?

A read through the Corrupted-Justice.com Forums will quickly reveal the answer to those questions and more.

Note: 12 Nov 2006 - This article has been edited by Scott Morrow. Our initial information had been that PJ member "Pedoloather" was the author of the anonymous letter rather than the recipient. The article has been corrected to reflect the fact that "Pedoloather", rather than authoring the anonymous accusations, actually took action on the basis of unverified, anonymous accusations. In our opinion, both actions are completely unacceptable and clearly indicative of the severity of the vigilante issue.
