While our methods, some of our staff, and our original bright-eyed enthusiasm (and perhaps some naiveté) for our mission have changed and become more focused over the course of the past two years, our staunch resolve to ensure that the truth about Perverted-Justice is available somewhere has only strengthened.

With every lie, with every cover-up, with every completely false accusation of "pro-pedophile", from the owner of Perverted-Justice.com, Xavier Von Erck has unwittingly provided us with the incentive to continue with our work. On a number of occasions where we found our personal interest in this cause to be flagging, Von Erck inevitably stepped in and made yet another ridiculous accusation or statement, his amateur cyber-cops made yet another bumbling assumption, or his devout followers made yet another serious mistake and targeted someone who was completely innocent. Each time one of these things occurred, it forced a response and ensured our renewed interest in the goings-on of Perverted-Justice.com.

Accomplishments

While Von Erck would likely kiss his mother full on the lips before he would admit it publicly, the past two years have seen a number of significant changes in the way Perverted-Justice does business. Each and every one of those changes can be directly attributed to the good work being done by the staff and supporters of Corrupted-Justice.com.

Two years ago, Perverted-Justice didn't bother with telephone verification. Our publication of information that showed just how easy it would be to set someone up to have their lives destroyed by Perverted-Justice members was the incentive for ALL "busts" to require verification of the telephone number. Over 300 "bust" files were hidden by Von Erck because they had not been properly verified. Unfortunately the group even managed to bastardize the original intent of this verification in such a way as to make it virtually useless.

Two years ago, Perverted-Justice had "the rule of no first contact" in which any member of the group caught proactively contacting police or the media regarding a "bust" would be summarily banned from the site. Our publicizing of the utter stupidity of this "rule" forced Von Erck to finally, albeit reluctantly allow his minions to actually contact police should they see fit. Unfortunately, many of them still choose to administer their own form of "justice" rather than assisting legitimate law enforcement in ridding the Internet of predators.

Two years ago, ALL Perverted-Justice "busts" were dealt with only by the anonymous vigilantes at Perverted-Justice.com. Police were never involved. Thanks to our continuous publicizing if this fact, Perverted-Justice has been forced to occasionally involve police. After our very successful efforts at voicing our displeasure regarding the lack of police involvement during the first two "Dateline" programs that employed the vigilante group, even MSNBC relented to the pressure and forced Von Erck to involve law enforcement officials for subsequent programs.

Because we have yet to see any official statement to the contrary from Von Erck, it must be assumed that the prime policy of the vigilante group remains as it has always been - To only involve law enforcement when the "busts" are being done in a public venue, such as the recent "Dateline" episodes. Without an announcement to the contrary, it must be assumed that non-TV "busts" will continue to be carried out in vigilante fashion, with no law enforcement involvement. We will continue to place significant pressure on the group until such an announcement is made.

Two years ago, virtually every Perverted-Justice participant was completely anonymous, thereby allowing them to avoid any personal responsibility for the numerous and inevitable mistakes they made. Corrupted-Justice staff made a determined effort to identify the most ardent vigilantes. Over the course of the past two years, hundreds have been identified, including the site owner, Phillip Eide (a.k.a. Xavier Von Erck) and virtually all of his "staff". Unlike the vigilante site, that information is kept confidential and provided only to law enforcement and attorneys.

Two years ago, the only source of information about Perverted-Justice was the thoroughly "filtered" and often completely falsified information provided by Xavier Von Erck. Over the course of the past two years we have exposed his "historical alterations" on a regular basis - From his assertions that he did not knowingly employ minors in performing graphic sexual chats with men online, to his asinine statements that Perverted-Justice never makes mistakes, to the fact that the majority of Perverted-Justice participants have serious psychological or drug dependency issues. We have provided page after page of completely third-party-verifiable, irrefutable evidence that all is not as the PJ staff would have you believe.

What do we want?

We want what we've wanted since Corrupted-Justice came into being two years ago:

We want every single "bust" to be investigated and dealt with by legitimate, trained, accountable law enforcement personnel rather than by untrained, questionably motivated, unaccountable cyber-vigilantes who are involved primarily for the power-trip.
We want the "Follow-Up Forum" at Perverted-Justice.com to disappear. With the police doing all investigations, there is no need for the public display of personal details for hundreds and hundreds of people who have absolutely no involvement with anything related to Perverted-Justice.
We want those who have committed crimes in the name of Perverted-Justice to be held accountable for their actions.

While the likelihood of the third item is slim, we intend to continue to work toward ensuring the first two items are made a reality.

Most longtime Perverted-Justice members have now come to realize that Corrupted-Justice.com is more than just a flash in the pan. We are serious, and we are dedicated. Two years of withstanding blistering personal attacks, defamation, false accusations and serious threats from Xavier Von Erck and his vigilante followers have toughened our hides and our resolve to see this vigilante group either legitimize or disappear.

Our domain name is due to expire in April, 2008. Help us to ensure the site is no longer necessary by that time. Educate yourself. Discuss the issue with friends and family. Get the word out. Get involved. Don't allow the participants of Perverted-Justice.com to prosper on the basis of the hideous actions of their last two years!

To those who have supported and helped us over the past two years, our sincere and heartfelt thanks. Vigilantes cannot prosper if intelligent, educated, law-abiding citizens refuse to allow it. Don't allow it.
